Preparations continue for the next year’s major aircraft maintenance event in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The 17th International Exhibition MRO Russia & CIS 2022 and the Professional Conference "The Present and the Future of the MRO Industry in Russia and the CIS" to be held in the framework of the event, will take place on March 10−11, 2022 in Moscow, at the World Trade Center.
Two full years have passed since the beginning of the new coronavirus pandemic. The whole world continues to experience new "waves", full or partial lockdowns, and restrictions on movement around the world. All this could not but affect the air transportation business, and with it, the market for aircraft maintenance services.
The bad news is that the global MRO market has more than halved in 2020 compared to the pre-crisis year. But there is also good news — in 2021, the volume of traffic started to grow, stimulating the demand for MRO services. In the countries with significant domestic markets, recovery rates are well above the world average, and Russia is one of such countries.
According to the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya), in October 2021, Russian airlines served only 2.2% fewer passengers than in October of the pre-crisis 2019. The bulk of traffic fell on domestic routes, where the 2019 indicator was exceeded by 22%!
And in just 10 months of this year, the number of passengers carried amounted to 94.5 million, only 14.3% less than in the corresponding period of 2019. In terms of the rate of traffic restoration for 10 months of this year, Russia is strengthening its position among the world leaders.
The high potential of the Russian market and the related markets in Eastern Europe and Central Asia cannot but attract MRO service providers and products from all over the world.
"My colleagues and I counted the number of domestic and foreign flights on the Russian market and we can say that it is recovering faster than the European market. Perhaps not as fast as in Asia, but the indicators are now tending to the pre-pandemic ones"
Vincenzo Sansone, Leading Sales Manager, Lufthansa Technik, participant of MRO Russia & CIS 2021.
At the latest MRO Russia & CIS 2021 Exhibition and Conference, which was held under strict restrictions on international travel, 30 exhibitors and a little more than 100 foreign attendees out of a total number of 700 were able to take part — much less than in previous years. But the world is gradually adapting to the life in the new pandemic reality, the borders are becoming more transparent, the expectations of businessmen are becoming more optimistic. And, therefore, almost half of the exhibition booths have already been booked for MRO Russia & CIS 2022.
In 2022, many companies which have missed previous exhibitions due to the pandemic are resuming their participation as exhibitors. Among them are: AAR Corporation, Ameco Beijing, Apram Aerospace, Aviation Parts and Services, Avion Systems, Czech Airlines Technics, Dedienne Aerospace, Fokker Services, Iberia Maintenance, MTU Maintenance, Revima Group, TAP Air Portugal, Rosma, Technoavia.
If your company is interested in providing services in the largest market in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, join the exhibitors of MRO Russia & CIS 2022!
